We are looking for an ambitious software developer who wants to make a difference by building a product that empowers, enables, and adapts to the changing needs of individuals living with dementia. 25,000 new cases of dementia are diagnosed in Canada every year. The MemorySparx One app provides a portable, and easy-to-use digital memory aid that individuals affected by dementia use to organize and recall personal information, health history, and more.
As an iOS developer you will play a critical role in the evolution of the MemorySparx One app. You'll build easy-to-use interfaces for the customer, improve the performance and stability of the application, and take an active role in product planning. As part of a small start-up team you will also have opportunity to develop technical and non-technical skills beyond iOS development.
Write clean, maintainable iOS application features in Swift using the latest iOS programming techniques.
Collaborate with the team to research, define, prioritize, estimate and schedule product features.
Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
Unit test, comment, and document your solutions.
Manage versions of the application through beta testing and release.
Identify, investigate, and fix defects.
Stay up to date with Apple's development tools and guidelines.
Bachelor Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Experience developing, testing, and releasing customer facing iOS mobile applications.
Proficient with Objective-C or Swift, and Cocoa Touch.
Experience with iOS networking in Objective-C or Swift.
Experience with iOS media, camera, microphone API library.
Familiar with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
Familiar with RESTful APIs to connect iOS mobile applications to back end services.
Understanding of Apple's design principles, submission guidelines, and interface guidelines.
Proficient with Git code versioning tool.
Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
Able to deliver on commitments with minimal supervision.
